Building Survey of decorative terracotta

Practice History

The practice was established in 2000 to specialise in the repair and restoration of older buildings with a particular interest in the surveying of historic timber and related problems. This led to several projects including the redesigning of the ornate roof structure for the church of St Peter’s Ancoats, which was sourced from historic photographs and the repair of the roof structure for the Church of the Holy Name Manchester, which was awarded The King of Prussia Award for Innovation in Conservation 2008 by the Ecclesiastical Architects and Surveyors Association.

.

During  the last decade extensive experience was gained in converting redundant listed buildings for residential use including Rosehill Northenden, which in accordance with planning agreements the interiors were carefully remodelled from archive photographs as this had been lost due to vandalism and fire.

.

More recently the practice was involved in the management of a challenging development in North Wales which included procurement, planning and conversion of nine historic stone barns and design of a modular timber leisure lodge.

.

The practice has just completed the design, construction and certification of its first part modular timber passive house located in south-west China. The house will be the first certified domestic passive house in China and will be one of the first passive houses dedicated to cooling rather than traditional heating.
