Project Four
Conversion of Derelict Manor House
The practice was employed to advise on the conversion and restoration of an important Victorian manor house on the outskirts of Manchester.
The property was once the home of an important Victorian railway magnate Sir Edward Watkin and was originally furnished with extravagant internal decoration. However much of this had been lost due to fire, dry rot, theft vandalism.
As part of the planning agreement the decorative interiors were carefully redesigned and reinstated in accordance with original heritage archive photographs.
All new designs were agree with Local Authority Planning and English Heritage as well as complying with current Building Regulation requirements.
